The purpose of the collection is to help you discover Miskolc's once-thriving mining culture! The Collection can be visited free of charge upon prior registration!

What is displayed in the exhibition is only a fraction of the tools and memories of mining, which boasts a history spanning thousands of years. The exhibitors did not aim for completeness, as such an ambitious goal was beyond their reach. They had to be content with presenting just a small slice of mining, as the exhibition space and available resources placed limits on their imagination. The founders intended this collection to at least signal that Miskolc and its surroundings once had a flourishing mining culture, much more diverse and extensive than it is today.

The Collection can be visited on weekdays between 9 am and 1 pm, by appointment only!
